What is B12?
Vitamin B12, or cobalamin, is naturally found in animal foods and is necessary for healthy red blood cells, metabolism, and DNA. It is also vital in the function and development of brain and nerve cells.

What are the Side Effects?

How is the Medication Administered?
B12 injections can be administered intramuscular or subcutaneously. Subcutaneous (under the skin) route is more commonly prescribed for those self-administering for minimal discomfort.
What are the Contraindications?
You are NOT a good candidate for treatment with B12 if you have any of the following: Leber's Disease, polycythemia vera, gout, iron or folic acid deficiency anemia, low potassium blood levels (hypokalemia), kidney disease, active infection, receiving any treatment that has an effect on bone marrow, allergy to cobalt or dye
